Bonjour, Notion myths and heroes: J'aurais besoins d'une correction pour mon oral, s'il vous plait. (il faut que je réduise la définition) Cordialement I am going to develop the notion of « myths & heroes ». Indeed, a myth is a story that may or may not be true. There may not be records or other proof that they happened, but at least some parts of myths may be true. Some myths may have started as « true » stories but as people re-told them some parts may have been changed by mistake, or to make them more interesting. All cultures have myths and this mythology has been developed over time. Mythology includes the legends of our history, our religions,  stories of how the world was created, and our heroes. These stories have great symbolic power, and this may be a major reason why they survive as long as they do, sometimes for thousands of years. And a hero is a person who is admired for their courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. It can be the main character in a book or a film or a person with superhuman qualities. It can also be a modern-day hero, a person who has performed a heroic act or simply our own personal hero, our role model, who we look up to. Examples can be: – a patriotic or national hero (sportsman, politician, human rights defender…..) – a fictitious hero (superhero or film star) – an icon or role model (fashion, tv, music) – a defender of common values – our own personal hero (member of the family who you look up to) I going to talk about the heroes. To illustrate this theme I chose documents that we studied in class. Consequently, The question we need to ask is: What is the role of Superheroes and what does he do ? To answer at this question, In the first part we are going to speak about the the need to have a hero, then in second one party of the heroes journey. __ To begin we are going to speak about They inspire us, make us dream... That they are famous (sportsmen, artists) or unknown persons (fire brigades, emergency physicians or even our neighbor of landing) real either fictitious (Superman, Indiana Jones), they are valuable carriers with which we become identified and we would like to look like them...The great heroes take a more and more important place in our culture. This omnipresence of the great hero, answers precise and important needs for our societies. It is also the image of a society which believes the less in the science and the more in the magic, of a society which waits for immediate effects of its actions, and fast resolutions in its problems. The people need heroes to amuse them, to admire them, for tried to look like them as the children for example it allows them to escape to dream. But « real » heroes allows to take advancing the history as Raso Park for example. (She became a hero to fight against the racism on December 1st, 1955, by refusing to give her place to a white passenger in the bus.) __ We were able to observe the role of a hero. We will go to the next part with the heroes journey. __ The first, We have to study « a hero’s journey » in class because the hero’s adventure is like a cycle. The hero’s journey have several phases. His day, begin in the ordinary world by being called to adventure (with a mysterious message), after there is an assistance (the hero needs some help, probably from someone older with mystical or magical power.), a trials (he solves riddles, slays/kill a monster or escape from a trap, …), the ordeal (it’s tome to face the major challenge, the hero’s, the biggest ordeal), a achievement of goal, a result( may be celebration), and the hero returns to the ordinary world. We have to study as example the journey of Harry Potter in class. He is called to adventure with a lettre. Its assistance is a magic wand. Its departure is to leaves the ordinary world to discover the magical world. Its trials is to learn the magic. The achievement of goal is the fights with Lord Voldemort. And the result is to win the cup, and reunited with his friends. __ To conclude, We have seen that A hero can make dream but he can also take advanced the history. And the day of a hero can be compared has a circle. We can wonder if, all people can become heroes.
