Because they were on different sides of Germany's standing points. America was against Germany from the begging, but Soviet Union was an alliance but was betrayed by Germany

There are a lot of different answers depending on the situation. There is also some part of hitler because he killed so many Jews. Then there is the fighting part and who's on what side.
