The Industrial Revolution was the transition to new manufacturing processes in the period from about 1760 to sometime between 1820 and 1840. In the United States, the first successful well drilled especially to produce oil, was drilled at a site near Titusville, Pennsylvania, in August, 1859 . As you can see, oil was not a part of the industrial revolution. There was no oil industry, and no overlap between the two.  The industrial revolution was accomplished without oil.
