The size of a water molecule is 2.78 multiplied by 10 to the negative tenth power. write this number is standard form.

.278000000 if its to a negative power, than the decimal place is before the numbers, and you put in the first number that is before the decimal when it is in scientific notation, then you put in the second number start counting to ten with the second number being number 1, and the third number being 2. Since there are no more numbers in 2.78, you add zeros as 3,4,5 etc. until you get to to because it is x10^-10. If it was 10x10^-6, than you would count until 6 for example. Sorry if this is a little bit confusing
