simile. When you see the word "like" the answer will most likely be simile .

SIMILE is the form of figurative language used. Simile is the comparison of one thing to another thing of different kind to give emphasis on its description. The use of "like a" or "as (adjective) as a" denotes the use of simile. The paper was compared to a hatbrim. Daily paper tilted like a hatbrim.
