The trousers cost 75% of $60. The percent can be changed to a decimal. 0.75 times 60 is 45. So the trousers cost $45. The same can be done for the shirt. 0.6 times 35 is 21. 45 + 21 = 66. Mari pays $66. Another way to do it: (* means times, / means divided by) 60 * 75 = 4500 / 100 = 45 35 * 60 = 2100 / 100 = 21 45 + 21 = 66

First you would have to find out how much money is off of each item by multiply the money of the item by the percentage. (Make sure to put the percentage in a decimal by moving it 2 places to the left) Then, once you did that for each item, add those two things together, and you get your final answer. :)
