1) Distribute 8(2x-14) + 13 = 4x - 27 then simplify like terms to get: 16x - 99 = 4x - 27. 2) Subtract 4x on both sides and at the same time add 99 to both sides to get: 12x=72. 3) Divide both sides by 12 to get x=6. PART B: 6 makes the equation true because you just solved for it.
