Algebra 2 help A student wanted to find the sum of all the even numbers from 1 to 100. He said: The sum of all the even numbers from 1 to 100 is twice the sum of all the odd numbers from 1 to 100. The sum of all the odd numbers from 1 to 100 is 1002. Explain why each of these statements is incorrect.

They're wrong because the result is not the sum of the even numbers from 1 to 100. The sum of all odd numbers from 1 to 100 is  1 + 3 + ...... + 99  which is an arithmentic series of fifty terms with first term 1 and common difference 2.
